Reasons of why staying with Nathaniel would be good.

(If anyone can add to this please list it. Check my last entry if you have no idea what this is referring to.)

Why it would work:

Mystina would be out of the house, her room could be cleaned without her getting sick from the dust. Something that has been promised to her for a good while but hasn't happened.

Tacy would get a vacation from taking care of Mystina. She could let someone ELSE do the work of it. She would get a break from the stress of it at least.

Nathaniel is a medical professional, he could take care of her and if anything happened he'd know what to do. He already has her medicine list and is learning it. She won't be taking care of herself.

She knows how to protect herself. If he tried anything he'd get a swift kick in the balls. Both of their intentions are PURE, both want to wait until marriage so nothing will happen. But, If he tried anything he'd get kicked in the nuts.

He intends to keep her headache away, and any other pain until the night they plan to work on healing her. She can also be given energy by him. This means she's going to feel good as long as she has easy access to him. It works better when he's able to put his hands on the person. He's the only one able to bring her headache down to a 0, so while he's here that also means a break from the pain for a while for HER.

If anything did happen you're just a phonecall away.


The bad possibilities of what could happen:

Nathaniel could try something, piss Mystina off, and get his balls kicked while she called her family. After kicking them more than once that is. She's not going to let a man harm her, and if he tried she doesn't care how much she loves him, he gets the same : a kick in the balls if he tries anything on her. When Mystina says she's going to wait she means it. Then he'd have to deal with her pissed off family who'd beat the shit out of him before calling the cops. :)

She could get sick...and he'd be there to give her the medication she needed. If it got bad they could call home and take her to the hospital.

this is silly but tell them to give you a thing of mace, an alarm thing, anything, so that if he hurt you (and i KNOW HE WOULDNT, but this is just for them to feel better) you could protect yourself. i know you would kick anyone who tried to hurt you, but i bet anything that would help maybe.

it seems to me that if they really cared about making you happy and were really worried about him doing something to you, someone would try to stay with you guys.

Now, Mysti's crazy, but not stupid (as opposed to me, who's both crazy AND stupid).

I think maybe it's that he's finally going to be here that your family suddenly get cold feet, the way some people get cold feet when finally meeting someone off the internet or a pen-pal for the first time. The sudden realisation that they "don't know anything about this guy" or "what if there's something i never knew about" "what if he's not what he says he is", that sort of thing.

Generally it's useless to coax people into thinking otherwise when they've set themselves into this sort of fear/panic. Although it's not actually any of your concern, it would be a gesture of responsibility and understanding on your part, however, to try and alleviate these fears.

Mysti's an adult, but she'll always be the frail baby to her family because she IS the "baby" (the one everyone looks out for in the existing family group) and they're so used to being worried about her. It may be very difficult for Mysti to talk to her family and reason with them as adults because they might not be able to accept her attempts at reasonable, adult conversation. This doesn't mean Mysti should give up or get upset, just that it's not Mysti's fault if and when her family doesn't treat her like a "responsible adult" when she's acting one.

Maybe it'll be good to let the family talk to him on the phone sometimes, the talking will reassure them that he's real and reassure them of his character and remind them that they love him and can trust him with Mysti. They might be more open to listening to him as a reasonable responsible adult rather than Mysti. Mysti can try negotiating a compromise, too... invite someone to chaperone for a few days while mysti visits nathan but not stay over. And if nathan behaves and mysti is fine after that set number of days, mysti can stay over? It just sounds like a fear/panic reaction, not a reaction towards any real concern or issues. They liked him well enough before and trust mysti's judgement on guys for herself. Mysti shouldn't let them ruin her mood.
